The Barok babouche for magical moments!
Given the heat that the city of Fez knows during the summer, the Masters Kherrazas of the last century addressed to the Masters tanners of the Chouara tannery, the oldest tannery in the world, to propose them a leather which would absorb the sweat.
Their goal was to find a leather that they could use inside the babouche to prevent their customers’ feet from slipping.
The Master Tanners then thought of adding a step in the tanning process to open the pores of the lambskin to allow it to absorb any liquid material.
The absorbent lambskin was born.
We have applied this ancestral method to this collection. You can get out of the pool with wet feet and wear it without affecting the leather or deforming the slipper.
And to make it an iconic product, we worked the upper part with goat leather that we pigmented with acid colors.
A long work of research was carried out with the Master of the pigments of the medina of Fès to obtain these colors by mixing vegetable, mineral and earthy pigments.
